Session Description: How do we create retail experiences that are both an extension of our museum but also a reflection of our communities? Join us to chat DEAI and leave with actionable items + resources to make your store inclusive and inviting for all. From vendor selection to storytelling to product merchandising, our small actions make a big difference in how we are non-verbally communicating our organizational values about who is welcome in this space. As museums are a concept primarily born out of colonization, it is of utmost importance we prioritize DEAI as we build the institutions we want to live on into the future, and being intentional with our retail spaces is a great place to start!
