Capturing the ROI of Digital Inclusion and Accessibility
Presenter: Phil Yatvin, Senior Director, Business Development, Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind
Knowledge Standards: Merchandise Planning, Financial Management, Visitor Relations, Operations, Human Resources, Marketing & Communications, Strategic Management
Session Description: The recent surge in DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) initiatives and the pandemic’s impact on website and app usage has shined a light on the critical importance of creating a digitally accessible website. Creating an inclusive website is more than just the right thing to do for customers with disabilities, it is an important business strategy with a high return on investment. For example, not being accessible can keep you from reaching a quarter of the American population that lives with a disability and the $500 billion in disposable incomes those working-age adults have. In this session, the audience will learn what digital inclusion truly means, why it’s critical to every store’s success, and how to build out a strategic roadmap to assess and improve website accessibility to generate more business.
